• Samsung Bioepis’ latest brand identity design has won two awards: ‘Brand Design & Identity’ and ‘Packaging Design’ under ‘Red Dot Award: Brands & Communication Design’ category
• The design titled ‘Passion for Health: Pure Joy in Life’ was made to represent the process of healing by bringing out the life and joy for patients using the product
INCHEON, KOREA – August 05, 2020 – Samsung Bioepis Co., Ltd. today announced that the company’s newly designed brand identity has won two awards from the prestigious international design award, the ‘Red Dot Award 2020’ for ‘Brand Design & Identity’ and ‘Packaging Design’. The newly designed brand identity will be used for all the product packaging in the future.
The winning design is titled ‘Passion for Health: Pure Joy in Life’. It was designed with a motive to bring out life and joy for patients with chronic illness. The focus of the design was ‘process of healing’ by using soft graphics in order to move away from the conventional, rigid design of medicine packaging which only serves to deliver safety information. The soft graphics are inspired by tranquility of nature and organic forms in life which is designed to evoke mental and physical stability to patients who are going through a difficult journey in life.

We wanted our patients to be replenished with life and joy which is where the design was inspired from”, said Young-Phil Lee, Senior Vice President, Process Development Team Lead at Samsung Bioepis. “The curved graphics symbolizes nature and the shape of the graphics is meant to represent the process of healing. From research to package design, we at Samsung Bioepis, put our passion for health to work and strive for constant innovation because patients are at the center of all that we do.” he added.
The origins of the Red Dot Design Award date back to 1955. Its distinction, the Red Dot, is established internationally as one of the most sought-after quality marks for good design. In order to assess the diversity in the field of design in a professional manner, the award breaks down into three competitions: the Red Dot Award: Product Design, Red Dot Award: Brands & Communication Design and Red Dot Award: Design Concept – each is organized once a year. Samsung Bioepis has won two awards under ‘Red Dot Award: Brands & Communication Design’.
